The first of three community engagement sessions for Nelson’s Community Recreation Campus kicks off this evening, Tuesday, November 5.
Hosted in partnership between the City of Nelson and the Regional District of Central Kootenay, the sessions aim to gather input from the public on whether the recreation amenities currently offered at the campus still meet the community’s needs.
Residents of Nelson and electoral areas E and F are invited to attend to hear from the City and the RDCK about the state of the facilities and amenities at the campus, and to ask any questions.
The Community Recreation Campus includes the Nelson & District Community Complex (pool, fitness centre, and arena), Civic Centre and Arena, Curling Rink, Indoor Soccer Facility, and the empty lot at 824 Front Street.
The first community engagement session is scheduled for tonight at Taghum Hall from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The second session will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at Nelson’s Prestige Lakeside Resort from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the third will take place at École des Sentiers-Aplins in Six Mile.
Those who cannot attend the community meetings in person can access all the material on the RDCK’s public engagement platform following the first meeting on November 5.
