BV gets clearer picture on rec user numbers

The Beaver Valley is getting an idea of how much its residents are spending on recreation in Trail.

Area A Director Ali Grieve says since withdrawing from the shared recreation agreement at the end of last year they’ve spent about $50,000 through their resident Reimbursement Program.

Grieve explains that’s a much different number to the $213,000 being asked in the deal with Trail and will provide better data as they look to return to the bargaining table next year.

The City of Trail argued it “did” provide how many B.V residents were card -holders.

Trails says since the program began in 2009 almost 30% live in Montrose and Fruitvale.
