A summer camp on Kootenay Lake has won a big award from BC Hydro.
The Tipi Camp at Crawford Bay has been chosen as a Community Champion for sustainability and conservation. It comes with a $10,000 prize.
Program coordinator Sandra Bernier says that’ll help them offer the camp to more young people.
They’ll also invest in a solar system to power their fridges and LED lights because the camp is completely off grid.
