Nelson area’s Osprey Community Foundation is closing in on an important fund raising target for this year.
Executive Director Vivien Bowers says if they get to $50,000 by year’s end an anonymous foundation donor will kick in an additional 50% – that’s another $25,000.
That would be a huge boost to their Unrestricted Endowment funds.
Annual grants from this fund have gone to local organizations providing food, shelter and community kitchens, the arts and recreation and many other local initiatives.
The foundation still needs around $10,000 more in the next two weeks to reach the goal.
