Castlegar mayor encouraged by fresh faces at regional table

Castlegar and Trail could be set for meaningful talks about the future of airports in our region.

That’s the message from Castlegar mayor Lawrence Chernoff who is positive about West Kootenay collaboration now there are many new political leaders in our communities.

And he says a proposed study on improving regional air service is a key part of that.

Chernoff admits the so-called West Kootenay Economic Dialogue- which features all communities – has been underplayed in the past.

But he’s confident there can now be closer economic development ties across the wider region.
