Trail will not participate in regional airports study

The city of Trail is repeating it wants to offer air service to our area independent of the airport in Castlegar.

That’s why they are clarifying they will not be taking part in a proposed regional airports study.

Trail’s CAO David Perehudoff says assumptions were made following a recent meeting of the so-called West Kootenay Economic dialogue group.

Perehudoff says Trail is undertaking its own study for a new terminal and exploring funding opportunities for runway improvements.

The West Kootenay study was initially going to focus on cancellation stats at both airports before exploring other possible study options.
