Castlegar moves to street widening after snow

Now that the City of Castlegar has caught up with its snow removal – public works is asking residents not to park on the road.

Director of Public Works Chris Barlow says a lot of the streets are very narrow and crews are beginning to widen them.

He is also warning parents to not allow children to play on snowbanks as the city will be pushing back a lot of the built-up snow with large loaders.

Barlow adds the transition after unionized staff returned from full scale strike action has been relatively smooth.
