Draft management plans for regional parks released

While a parking lot is vital for public safety at the Crescent Valley Beach Park it must be built with sensitivity.

That’s the word from local area director Walter Popoff in the Slocan Valley as the RDCK releases early drafts of management plans. They include design options for the parking lot that would handle about 50 vehicles.

Public input so far has highlighted the importance of the trees at Crescent Valley Beach and the archeological significance of the old mill site.

Popoff hopes a parking lot and washrooms can be built by the summer.

Draft plans for three other regional parks at Balfour Beach,Pass Creek and Waterloo Eddy have also been released.
