Winter air testing for Riondel Community Centre

More air quality testing inside the Riondel Community Centre will be done as part of the investigation into the future of the old multi-use facility.

Mold was detected coming up from the crawl space after the heavy summer rains of 2012 and now they’re doing winter testing too.

Area Director Garry Jackman says some of the foundations could be saved for a new build but it’s important to see if that would be a public health issue.

The East Shore community has firmly rejected spending over a million dollars on a big renovation project and Jackman says it’s likely another proposal will go to the voters later this year.
