Nelson hosts Stores To Shores public viewing session

The city of Nelson is set to put the ambitious Hall Street Corridor project out to tender.

As a final step they will give the public a final viewing of the plans later Monday .

The $3 million Stores To Shores project connects Baker Street with the waterfront.

It aims to breathe life into the heritage street through pedestrianization and potential development.

It has been three years in the making but has come in for some criticism regarding intersection lay-out,traffic flow changes and loss of parking space in some areas.

The latest plan sees the intersection where the steep part of Hall Street meets Vernon street becoming a 4-way stop with the upper part of hall becoming 2-way.

The public viewing goes from 4 pm till 7 pm today at the Adventure Hotel.
