Nelson Hydro seeks big 2015 budget

Another big budget is being requested by Nelson Hydro …to the tune of up to $4 million.

GM Alex Love says they’ve already done big work in the Queen City like sub-station renewal, downtown conversion and work at the generating station but there’s still lots more to do.

…that line will cross to Harrop-Procter. Also two more turbines at the dam still need upgrading.

Also the proposed Community Solar Garden (solar array) project should be ready to present to the public by the spring and could be built by the summer. The Nelson Hydro power plant site on the Kootenay River or a city building rooftop are being considered as possible locations.

Meanwhile Love adds they’ve had no snow-storm outages attributed to trees or branch failures following recent trimming work.
