Trail sets up special recreation negotiating committee

Trail’s mayor is optimistic a new negotiating committee will help reach shared recreational deals with surrounding communities.

Mike Martin says they formed the group – that includes city staff along with councillors Sandy Santori and Kevin Jolly – to have an efficient team in place to work with surrounding communities.

Trail has had a rough relationship as of late with some neighbouring communities when it comes to shared recreation.B.V did not renew an agreement at the end of 2013.

The Silver City also does not have a deal in place with Rossland.

Agreements with Warfield and Area B expire this year.
