Should other rural areas help pay for NDCC?

A local rural director supports the idea of a study to establish usage of the Nelson and District Community Complex.

But he’s not sure his area is using it that much.

Hans Cunningham – the Director in Area G (Ymir and and North Salmo) – is speaking to Nelson’s call for a more equitable taxation agreement across the neighboring communities to fund the complex.

Cunningham agrees populations in neighboring areas have increased since the current funding deal for the complex was set up many years ago.

But he needs to see data on who’s using what facilities.
