Armed stand-off in Castlegar leads to arrest

Castlegar RCMP are giving us some details about the armed stand-off at a residence in the downtown Monday afternoon.

A special Emergency Response Team was brought in and the immediate area around the 7th Avenue property was evacuated as a safety precaution.

After many hours of negotiation a 47 year old Castlegar man was arrested. There were no injuries.

He faces charges including assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and various firearms related offences.
