Big NDCC aquatic centre reno to start May 1st

We now have a set date for the long-term closure of the Aquatic Centre at the Nelson and District Community Complex.

It will shut it’s doors May 1st for a near $5 million project that’s expected to take eight months.

The RDCK’s Joe Chirico agrees any way you look at things it’s a long closure.

But the aim is to get it open again for the new year because that’s the busiest usage period.

He says they won’t know the exact time-frame for the work until the tenders are in.
