Former Grand Forks CAO re-hired at city

Another interesting turn in the recent political upheaval in Grand Forks.

The city’s senior administrator – who left after November’s election saw a new incoming mayor – is back.

Doug Allin has been re-hired by the new council after his name was put forward among the applicants.

Here’s acting CAO Diane Heinrichs.

The reasons for Allin’s initial departure were never publicly revealed.

The city says Allin was delighted and a little shocked when he received the offer to return but accepted because of the professional and personal investment he’d made in the community in recent years.
