Castlegar tourism numbers up

People from all over the world are visiting Castlegar for many reasons.

Over 13,400 travellers walked through the city’s Visitor’s Centre last year which was an increase from 2013.

Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce Tammy Verigin Burk says they were asking about many things …but mostly…

Over 2,000 inquired about Zuckerberg Island last year.

Other popular inquiries included transportation, hiking/biking and fishing and shopping.

The most out-of-province visitors came from Alberta, nearby US States , Mexico and Europe.
