The RDCK is getting on top of the budget now rather than come up short in the coming years.
That’s the message from CAO Stuart Horn who’s speaking to the 4% budget increase for the General Administration service approved by the board.
He says they’ve been able to dip into a surplus in recent years but that’s starting to disappear.
The RDCK runs 160 different services for residents.
Depending on where you live your tax increase will be anywhere from about $48 to $90.
There will also be increases to rural water system fees as they change the way charges are allocated.
