ArtWalk to showcase new exhibits across Nelson

ArtWalk returns Friday, July 31, with a second opening featuring new artists and fresh exhibits at venues throughout Nelson.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and will showcase professional and emerging artists at locations across the city, giving visitors another opportunity to explore local art in a variety of settings.

The Nelson and District Arts Council encourages residents and visitors to stop in at participating venues to meet artists, discover new work and support the local arts community.

The second opening follows a strong start to the 2026 ArtWalk season. Despite rainy weather, the first opening attracted visitors to more than 20 venues featuring the work of more than 35 local artists and makers.

“ArtWalk at The Cloudside Hotel was a huge success. Although it was a tad rainy, over 200 people attended, and our back deck was full of people creating watercolour postcards all evening. Three pieces of Rachel Krause’s artwork sold as well. We are looking forward to the next event on July 31st and to hosting the art of Cut and Etch.” said First-time ArtWalk venue owner Ashley Betschel.

ArtWalk continues to bring together professional and emerging artists while encouraging residents and visitors to experience Nelson’s vibrant arts community throughout the summer.
