Off-road vehicle restrictions have been lifted on the Nelson-Salmo Great Northern Trail and at Glacier Creek Regional Park.
The Regional District of Central Kootenay imposed the prohibition on Aug. 16 due to an elevated wildfire risk. It was lifted Tuesday following the province’s decision to rescinds its recreational off-road vehicle prohibition on Crown land in the Southeast Fire Centre. That provincial restriction was lifted at noon Friday.
However, the RDCK reminds residents there are still many RDCK regional parks and trails where off-road vehicle use is prohibited or restricted, including a portion of the Nelson-Salmo Great Northern Trail.
Residents and visitors are reminded to follow all park regulations and any wildfire-related restrictions while using RDCK parks and trails.
