Stolen truck recovered in New Denver

A pick-up truck stolen in Nelson late last month has been recovered in New Denver and police have a pretty good idea who did it, because the thief left his ID in the vehicle.

According to Facebook posts by the owner, the truck is “thrashed” with the bed, tailgate, and rear end “smashed up,” but other parts are still fine and he expects to get it back soon. The owner said police told him the thief is prolific and well known to them.

He said the thief left someone’s outboard motor in the truck, but he’s still trying to recover tools that were stolen.

The truck was swiped sometime Sept. 27 or 28 from Latimer Street.
