Presented by Spirit Tours Nelson in conjunction with the Nelson Paranormal League, Haunted Heritage Tours returns this October with a three-chapter series exploring the history, stories, and unexplained activity connected to some of Nelson’s most intriguing locations.
Step into the shadows of Nelson’s past and discover the stories that still linger today.
Drawing on evidence and research gathered by the Nelson Paranormal League (NPL), this year’s Haunted Heritage Tours bring together new stories, recent discoveries, historical accounts, and reports of unexplained activity in a three-chapter series.
Chapter One — Streetcar #23

The series begins aboard Nelson’s historic Streetcar #23, exploring stories connected to the streetcar, its passengers, and unusual experiences reported aboard one of Nelson’s most recognizable pieces of history.
Chapter Two — Haunted Heritage Walking Tour
October 17 2:00pm
Step into Nelson’s historic downtown and explore locations where mysterious accounts and unexplained phenomena have been reported over the years. Discover new stories and evidence gathered through the Nelson Paranormal League’s investigations.
Chapter Three — Bars, Brothels & Bad Places of Nelson
October 24 2:00pm
The trilogy concludes with a look at some of Nelson’s more notorious historic locations. Explore the people, events, and stories behind these places, along with the unexplained accounts that continue to surround them.
You don’t have to take all three tours. Each chapter is a complete experience in itself, but experiencing the trilogy allows participants to connect the stories and gain a deeper understanding of Nelson’s haunted history.
Hosted by Chris Holland, co-founder of the Nelson Paranormal League, the tours blend local history, storytelling, investigation, and a touch of the unknown. Participants will visit notable locations where unusual activity has been reported both historically and in recent years.
The Nelson Paranormal League is a group of researchers and enthusiasts dedicated to exploring paranormal reports throughout the Kootenay region. While not scientists, the NPL approaches its investigations with a strong interest in local history and the unexplained stories connected to historic buildings and locations.
Nelson’s heritage dates back to the late 1800s and early 1900s, leaving behind a remarkable collection of historic buildings, colourful characters, and stories that continue to intrigue residents and visitors alike. The NPL’s work focuses on investigating these stories, documenting reported experiences, and exploring the evidence surrounding Nelson’s unexplained history.
