Lightning last night caused a number of wildfires in our region.
Southeast Fire Centre information officer Karlie Shaughnessey says they’re all quite small.
Fifteen of those fires are in the West Kootenay-Boundary regions.
The largest was one in the Pend d’Oreille.

It was reported to be at two hectares and was not caused by lightning.
BC wildfire crews assisted in combating that blaze along with 23 Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue members with support from air tankers and two helicopters.
