Dry lightning causes some fire starts

Initial attack crews were dealing with six spot-sized fires in the Southeast Fire Centre Tuesday.

This from Fire Information Officer Fanny Bernard who says despite the storm late Monday most areas in the region didn’t receive much rainfall so lightning was able to start some blazes.

Bernard says none of the wildfires are threatening any communities in the area.

Campfires will also be prohibited in the Southeast Fire Centre as of noon Friday.
