Nelson Hydro: full restoration by tomorrow

Despite non-stop efforts by seven different crews it could take until Saturday to get every last remaining home back onto the Nelson Hydro power supply.

GM Alex Love says the challenge has been the sheer volume of fallen and damaged trees across lines since Monday’s storm.

There are about 20 line-men working to get things restored following Monday’s storm.

About a hundred customers were still awaiting re-connection yesterday.

Love says in some cases a private electrician is needed to fix things on the house before they can connect.
