Missing Trail man found

The young Trail man who had been missing for eleven days has been found alive.

23 year old Gavin Ballard – who has some mental health issues- was located Saturday evening in the woods in the Pend O’reille area.

The efforts of Search and Rescue and a police dog unit brought to an end an exhaustive hunt and investigation.

Corporal Darryl Orr with Greater Trail RCMP says they probably got to Ballard just in time.

Police got a tip about Ballard’s abandoned car 3 km from the Buckleys campground and searchers found him a further 4.5 km away.
