Property protection and strengthening containment lines on two main flanks has been the focus of efforts as the Rock Creek wildfire moves into its sixth day.
Fire Information Officer Mike McCulley says while the wind-driven blaze destroyed 30 homes there are pockets of unburned fuel around other homes.
Specialist teams are working on those areas with sprinkler units or building guards.
The fire is not contained although he says progress is being made on the north and western flanks.
