Rock Creek fire 50% contained

The Rock Creek wildfire in the West Boundary is now 50% contained and there has been no more reported growth at 4,200 hectares.

Fire Information Officer Collette Fauchon says crews have been making solid progress in two specific areas.

But there were some weather challenges expected later on Thursday.

There may have been even more progress Wednesday had thick smoke not restricted the movement of some aircraft.

But the skies were slightly better on Thursday.
