Midway Resilience Centre to close

The Midway Resilience Center has met with support agencies and will close its doors Wednesday at 5pm.

It was set up in the wake of the Rock Creek-Westbridge wildfire last month.

Midway Recovery Manager Gary Carleton stresses that services are still available through the Red Cross.

Meanwhile an Unmet Needs Committee has been established to help residents who are continuing their recovery process.

The members of this committee will collectively assess the needs in the affected areas and how to best use donated funds and keep them local.

30 homes and an additional 15 structures were damaged or destroyed by the Rock Creek-Westbridge blaze when it swept through August 13th and 14th.
