Reduction for SD 20 bus fees

The Kootenay Columbia School Board has made plans for part of it’s unexpected savings.

The district had a windfall of $178,000 not charged to them by the government.

Here’s Chair Teri Ferworn.

Ferworn had initially hoped to see the entire savings go towards cutting or potentially eliminating the soon to be levied bus fees.

Still, she hopes this will drastically reduce the $200 charge per child.

The remaining money will go towards various repairs to some of the schools in SD 20.
