Winlaw school crowd shows what community means:parent

Another very large crowd has tried to persuade school trustees not to close Winlaw Elementary.

About 350 people showed up to the community hearing Monday night.

PAC chair Eden Du Pont says everyone had a chance to present their feelings and this is what it means to be a community.

There are fears closing the well-utilized Winlaw school will damage the community and see families leave.

SD-8 is pondering the move as a way of saving on long term maintenance costs.

The decision will be made July 5th.
