Creston woodlot audit shows problems

A Creston area woodlot received a pass and a fail in a recent forest practices board audit.

The logging operator met all necessary requirements for planning and road maintenance.

But they fell short in silviculture activities and reporting to the government.

Forest Practices Board Chair Tim Ryan says it’s uncommon for the audits to identify reforestation issues.

The operator has been asked to develop a plan to replant the audited areas and update their records.
