The North Kootenay Lake Arts council approached the village about the lack of public washrooms downtown.
Stephanie Judy says they pitched a community toilet scheme which is popular in the UK.
But council decided instead to install a couple of porta potties to be paid for by Saturday market vendors.
Judy says they’re disappointed and are appealing to council to reconsider.
