Next year marks the 30th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Nelson and Izu-Shi, Japan.
John Armstrong with the Izu-Shi Friendship Society says visits are planned to mark the occasion.
Armstrong says a delegation from Izu-Shi would likely pay a return visit sometime over the summer.
The local society was on the verge of folding last year but it’s now being revitalized.
