Council asked to oppose trade agreements

Nelson city council is being asked to formally oppose two international trade deals.

Sandra Hartline of the local chapter of the Council of Canadians says they have grave concerns about the Transpacific Partnership and Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.

US president-elect Donald Trump has indicated he will pull out of the Transpacific Partnership.

Council said they’re well aware of the deals and their potential drawbacks.
