Nelson will get 43 new residential care beds.
Interior Health residential care director Cindy Kozak-Campbell says they’re seeking proposals from providers.
They’re hoping to award the contract in the spring and have the new beds available by the fall of 2018.
She says they could be in a new standalone facility or added to an existing one, depending on who bids.

It will bring the total number of residential beds in Nelson to 167.
The new beds are among 243 announced for Interior Health last fall.
