Nelson’s population is now 10,572.
That’s according to results from the 2016 census released by Statistics Canada this morning.
It’s up from 10,230 in 2011, the first time the city cracked that milestone.
Kaslo fell to 968 from 1,031 while Slocan is down to 272 from 296.
Salmo held steady at 1,141, two more people than five years ago.
Silverton was unchanged at 195. New Denver was down to 473 from 504.
