Nelson is looking at a 4.85 per cent tax increase this year.
That’s higher than in recent years where the increase has been held to the rate of inflation.
Chief financial officer Colin McClure says there are additional cost pressures this year.
Mcclure says on an average home worth $320,000 increase amounts to an extra $69.
It would raise $388,000 for city coffers overall.
