Nelson has officially launched its electric vehicle charging station.
The Level 2 station is in front of the visitor centre in Railtown.
Nelson Hydro’s Alex Love says it’s been in place since March and has already received some use.
It takes four to six hours to get a full charge but for the moment it’s free.
Mayor Deb Kozak says the charger fits with the city’s goals.
Trish Dehnel with Accelerate Kootenays is also happy to see it.
Chargers can also be found in Salmo, Creston, and Castlegar among other communities.
