Nelson non-profit promoting physical activity

The Nelson Sports Council is distributing a sport and physical recreation grant.

They’ll be dispersing $33,000 over the next three years – successful applicants will be eligible for a maximum of $1000.

Kim Palfenier on the council board of directors says the grant’s purpose is to promote activity.

She says the money is left over from a contingency fund.

Groups and teams are encouraged to apply in advance before their seasons begin, you can apply in January, May, and September.

The grant is available to groups of all ages.
