The City of Nelson is cautioning residents and visitors to take extreme care around waterways as levels are on the rise. They say there are no specific areas of concern at the moment, but there is the potential for flooding and fast moving waters. Levels may also rise unexpectedly.
People and their pets should stay safely back from creek banks, which may be slippery or subject to erosion from the spring runoff.
Nelson residents can pick up sand and unfilled bags under the orange bridge (Lakeside Park parking lot). You’re asked to fill your own bags and to bring a shovel and scoop.
