Tree trimming crews will start work around power lines in Nelson soon. General manager, Alex Love, says they rotate areas every three years and the city is due again.
Love says they’re also working on some problem areas on the North Shore right now which experiences significantly more tree-caused outages than Nelson.
Nelson Hydro has a $400,000 budget for tree trimming, however often exceeds half a million dollars because of emergency issues.
