Murals going up around Nelson for summer festival

Another couple of locations approved for new murals in Nelson. The projects got to go ahead from City Council which are part of the Nelson International Mural Festival set for August. The City owned locations that were approved are the retaining wall on the Falls Street right of way near the SPCA and Christian Fellowship Society and a mural that was formerly approved for the parkade will now be going up on the Civic Theatre. One will also be going up in I.O.D.E Park.

Sydney Black with the Nelson and District Arts Council says there’s currently 10 murals that are planned as part of the festival, including two that are already underway.
