Rob Morrison of Cranbrook will represent the Conservative Party in the Kootenay-Columbia riding in next October’s federal election.
The Kootenay-Columbia Conservative Association made the announcement this week.
Morrison was given the official nod from Conservative Party members in the riding in what was described as a very close race against challengers Dale Shudra and Wendy Booth.
Morrison has a 35-year career as a public servant.
His roles include Director General with the Treasury Board Secretariat in 2013. He was responsible for an information-sharing environment with all law enforcement agencies and foreign governments. Prior to this, Morrison served as a Senior Executive Chief Superintendent responsible for policing service delivery models throughout British Columbia. His service also includes the RCMP and the Department of Foreign Affairs where he was responsible for 17 countries in Central/Southwest Asia and the Middle East.
Morrison has five children and a love for community, wildlife, and nature.
