Slocan Valley wildfire attacked from all angles

Wildfire crews are tackling the large blaze in the Slocan Valley from all angles.

The fire near Slocan Park and Crescent Valley is on the east side two kilometres north east of Highway 6.

It prompted an evacuation alert for local residents last night when the winds got up.

Here’s Fire Information Officer Jordan Turner.

The evacuation alert remains in effect Tuesday although the RDCK’s regional fire chief has said weather permitting the hope is to get the fire manageable soon.

An emergency team that specializes in tackling fires that are close to a community are en route.
