As of 4:00pm, Nelson Hydro reports that power has been restored to many areas in the city including Uphill, Fairview, and the North Shore (from bridge to Sundance Road). Power is still out at the following areas:
• Coffee Creek to Sundance Road (includes Queens Bay, Balfour, Harrop, Procter)
• parts of Taghum
• parts of Grohman Community

Nelson Hydro says the line crew is working on restoring power after this afternoon’s storm. It caused several power outages in the system and there are now many tree and damaged power line issues from one end of the system to the other. It’s estimated to take many hours to repair all the damage.
Nelson Hydro adds that there may be another storm system rolling through the Nelson area around 4:00 pm this afternoon, which could bring further power outages.
