It was another good year for the Kootenay Music Awards. It was the seventh annual event this past weekend and 172 submissions were received from around the region. The evening started off by paying tribute to Paul Hinrichs for all of the work he has done to bring acts to the area both with his work at the Spirit Bar and Kaslo Jazz Etc.
Artist of the year went to a Fernie duo called Naturalist, who now land a spot performing at the Kaslo Jazz Etc. Festival. 25,00 votes were cast in total for the People’s choice Artist of the Year and Video of the Year Awards. For more information, click here.
