Nelson residents are being urged to document their physical activity for a chance to win Canada’s Most Active Community.
The ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge runs from May 31 to June 16.
Debby Zeeben, Chair of the Community Health First Co-op, explained how easy it is to join the contest.
“You just plug that information into the participation app on your phone, or your iPad or you desktop… Minutes of activity,” said Zeeben.
She added there will be a number of community events happening with activities and an opportunity to meet your neighbours and win some prizes.
You can pick up a copy of the Challenger Calendar from the Info Station at the Nelson and District Community Complex on June 1 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
The community that logs the most minutes wins $150,000 towards parks and recreation. There are some smaller prizes worth $20,000 and the provincial government is also kicking in $20,000.
