The city of Trail is cutting down two large mature  Lombardy Poplar trees on Second Avenue today.
That means there will be some inconvenience to the public.
Engineering Technician Warren Proulx says the 75-foot trees are dying and have become potentially dangerous.
The removal means the entire 1,100 block of Second Avenue is closed until this afternoon.
Detours will be in place around the busy street.
