RDCK water conservation measures start Thursday

Stage 1 water conservation measures will be imposed starting Thursday for anyone on a Regional District of Central Kootenay water system.

The RDCK says the measures will remain in place through Sept. 30 and could be increased to one of three additional stages if demand spikes, it gets really hot and dry, or of reservoirs fall to critically low levels.

Under stage 1 measures, you can only water your lawns, gardens, trees and shrubs between 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. However, watering using drip irrigation, a watering can, and or hand-held hose is permitted at anytime.
